Omaha Poker

For Omaha, I think we could figure out several imaginations for this word. The first is the largest city in the state of Nebraska, United State. The second maybe refer to the people who live in the city of Omaha. The third one would mean a kind of poker game.

Omaha, a type of poker game, which is the second most popular poker game after Texas Hold ‘em in the world. It is a community card poker game. Each poker player would be dealt four cards and should make his best hand using exactly two of them, plus three of the five community cards for every player.

In North American casinos, Omaha could refer to several types of poker games. The original game is also commonly known as Omaha High. A high-low split version called Hi-Lo, or sometimes Omaha eight-or-better or Omaha/8, is also played.

When it comes to European casinos, Omaha refers to the high version of the game, usually played pot-limit. Pot-limit Omaha is often clipped as PLO. Pot-limit and no-limit Omaha eight-or-better could also be found in some casinos or online poker website, but for no-limit, it is rarer.

Talking about its origin, it is not as clear as that of Texas Hold ‘em or any poker games else. There exist several ideas about its origin.
