Bird's view of poker

As far as I am concerned, poker is a great invention, which symbolizes the wisdom of people all over the world. Wherever people are, whatever people are; they could always have fun from poker games, they are beyond ages, borders, races, which is like the “Olympic Spirits”. They entertained people in past, they bring fun to people in modern society; they will also enlighten people in the future.

I would like to categorize poker into two types, global poker and regional poker, for global poker, which means they are world-widely accepted for instance Texas Hold ‘em, Omaha, Stud card; for the latter one, which are played in different countries, say in China there are certain types of local poker games, in South Korea, there also exist some kinds of regional poker games…

With the amazing pace of internet development, online poker is spreading to every corner on the earth. Its awesome graphics, high bonuses draw billions of poker players’ attention. Everyday numerous poker players adventure themselves online. United States has the lion’s share of online poker players, which are as much as 60%-70% of the total No. of online poker players
But in some countries, it is banned because some lawmakers take online poker as an activity of gambling. Or in some countries if online poker is legal or not is still in discussion.

My point is that they should not take online poker as gambling, poker is a skill game, which needs a lot of strategies and analysis.

Tomorrow is another day! Poker or online poker will be more and more flourish.
